Advanced Ichimoku Course
Changing the Game
There is not much information available on the Ichimoku Cloud. There is only one book on the topic written for westerners, and it has rarely satisfied traders’ desire to understand the technique on an advanced level. Except for a few websites, much of the information from the original texts is unavailable to clients unless you write Japanese Hiragana and Kanji.
This course changes all that. Chris Capre, one of the foremost experts on Ichimoku Cloud trading in the world. Chris has built Ichimoku Systems for investment firms and consulted with various financial institutions using his proprietary Ichimoku methods.
Testing strategy after strategy using proprietary analytics, this course gives traders who are passionate about the Ichimoku Cloud an advanced way to take Ichimoku trading to the next level.

This is the most advanced Ichimoku course available anywhere. There is simply no other course on the subject with this level of advanced material on the Ichimoku Cloud.
If you are still learning the Ichimoku Cloud, we suggest reading Learning the Ichimoku Cloud to build your base of knowledge and gain an understanding of the important concepts before starting the course.
This course has one purpose: to teach you advanced rule-based systems on the Ichimoku Cloud, all of which are generally unavailable.
You will learn six advanced proprietary rule-based systems with the Ichimoku Cloud. Each system has precise rules for entries and exits, finding targets, setting stops, and identifying the proper trade setups. These systems are built upon proprietary quantitative data never before published.
We are also constantly testing and adding new systems and material to the course.
Sign up for the Advanced Ichimoku course, and you will also receive:
1) One private follow up mentoring session with Chris Capre – After completing the course, you will receive a private follow-up mentoring session to leverage what you’ve learned in the course to enhance your strengths and minimize your weaknesses.
2) Lifetime membership to the Private Forum – Gain access to a library of knowledge on our forum.
3) Full email support – You’ll get full email access to Chris Capre, to ask any questions about the course or material. We pride ourselves on our outstanding customer support, and we respond to emails every day, including weekends and holidays.
The course is also available on video and is accessible 24 hours a day, so you can learn when it’s convenient for you. Once you sign up, you will receive login information to access the course and learn at your own pace.
FAQ
Is this a one time fee and do I have unlimited access to the videos?
There is only a one time fee and all updates are free. Yes, you have lifetime access to the course and can watch the videos as many times as you want.
What kind of support do I get and how is the follow up session conducted?
You get full email support from me, a free follow up session from me, and access to the traders forums. The course tutorials and lessons are in video format over 13+ videos that you can watch 24.7.365. There are also lessons in article/text format as well.
I am a complete newbie in trading. How will this course benefit me?
I start with the most basic models to understand and the ichimoku cloud. From here there is a progression of lessons which start from the beginning and work their way up. I have every level of traders from beginners to prop traders out of wall street, so the course is suitable for all.
I have a full time job - can I still use your systems and are there certain times of the day they only work on?
A large majority of my students have full time jobs and still trade successfully using these systems. If they can, so can you. I have strategies that work throughout the day as there is a huge range of strategies from the 5m, 30m, 1hr, 4hr, and daily charts, so regardless of your time zone and availability, there are strategies for you to trade.
What are the hit rates of your systems and are they subject or rule based and can be programmed?
System accuracy is a meaningless figure with reward to risk ratios. I have over 6+ systems across 8+ instruments, across 6+ time frames, and accuracy varies per pair, time frame and system, so to list them all would be ridiculous. Min. is 1:1 reward to risk ratio, with some that can run to 4+:1 or even higher if the trade goes for a big runner. About 90% of them can be programmed as they are rule based. The others require some discretionary elements, but still come with rules.
I trade index futures, currency futures, and commodities. Do your systems work in these markets?
Ichimoku trading works with any markets that have sufficient liquidity. I personally use them on forex, index futures and commodities.
If you are such a successful trader, then why do you teach?
Good question – please read my article
Why I Do This.
Do you post trade alerts in real time?
NO as students would just hitch a free ride. I do post many after they are done and comment on each one breaking them down. My students however post live trade setups every day along with my top students who are quite excellent traders.
Are there any independent reviews of your course?
Yes, you can find them here on the following link (
2ndSkiesForex Reviews).
Order Here
Note: Due to my active trading, the volume of emails I get, and orders I receive, it can take up to 12 hours to process your order. Contrary to the rumors – I actually do sleep, and since I process each order individually, please allow for this time to setup your account and welcome email.
yesi am intersted in the advanced price action course.is this a online course .if so can i go through it on my own pacebecause i work 12 hrs shift and trade part time.and what is the difference between this course and the pro trading course
Hello Eddie,
Good questions. Yes, the Advanced Price Action Course is an online course that you can go through at your own pace as you have lifetime membership. So you can study the course and go through the videos when its convenient for you.
In regards to how this course differs from the ProForex Course, the ProForex Course is centers around our Shadow System which is a swing/momentum trading system. However, the Adv. Price Action Course hovers around trading pure price action systems with clear rule-based systems for trading price action.
Email me info@2ndskies.com on how we can tailor what is the best course for you.
Kind Regards
Chris
Hi, Chris. I’m back looking at your site as we get close to my signing up. You’ve recommended the APAC to me to begin. Went into Ichimoku area anyway, just to check it out. Didn’t arrive at “Learning the Ichimoku Cloud” when I clicked the above link. Is that writing still available?
Hello Nandarani,
Hmm, the link should work but here is another link which works fine;
Ichimoku Cloud Trading
Let me know how it goes.
Kind Regards
Chris
Hey Chris,
Ichi is still working great. Following your rules I am obtaining my goal of becoming a full-time trader.
Later,
Chris
Hi Chris,
I’m interested in learning more about Ichimoku.
With your Advanced Ichimoku Course, are the lessons all in video? If yes, how many video lessons are included? Aside from the videos, what else are included in the package, e.g. chart samples, pdf, etc?
Thanks for your time.
Hello Norma,
Good questions.
The lessons are all on video, about a total of 6+ with each video being about 30+mins each.
On top of this, your get lifetime forum access to a library of knowledge on the systems,
charts examples are all in the videos, we are adding two more videos in February, and you also
get a private follow up session with me – all part of the course.
Does this answer your questions?
Thoughts?
Kind Regards
Chris
Hello Norma,
I’d suggest starting with the following articles in order;
The Ichimoku Cloud Basics
Trading the Tenkan and Kijun Cross
Trading Kumo Breaks
After you read those articles, you should have all the information you need to take the course.
Let me know how this goes and we’ll go from there.
Kind Regards,
Chris
Do the video lessons in the course have a lot of Forex examples?
Hello Norma,
Yes, all the video lessons go over plenty of examples to demonstrate exactly how to trade the systems. All of the methods are rule-based as well, so everything is explained for trading the systems, including:
Entries
Exits
Stops
Limits
Taking Profits
Everything.
We are also adding new videos in February going over further examples and constantly adding material.
Does this answer your questions?
Kind Regards
Chris
Hi,
I am interested in the ichimoku course for day trading ES Emini contracts. I am developing some strategies in ninjatrader and would like to know if the ichimoku rules taught in the course can be used in programming strategies for day trading.
I saw that you have backtested the rules for 10 years of data.
Hello Himanshu,
In regards to day trading, we have a 5min system for day trading fx pairs, and are adding in the next 2 days a 3min system for day-trading spot gold vs. usd, but nothing yet on the ES. The day trading systems are rule-based so they can easily be programmed into an algo for trading.
We are working on adding a day trading system on the ES, ideally in the next month if testing goes well.
Thoughts?
Feel free to email me directly via info@2ndskies.com with any further questions.
Kind Regards,
Chris
Hello,
I can trade about 3-4 hours a day during the NY and London overlap and since my balance is rather low I prefer to use lower timeframes like 1M and 5M since the stop loss is usually much lower and the cycles are shorter.
I see that one of your systems is based on the 3M timeframe, what’s the takeprofit/stoploss ratio on that one?
My goal is to make regularly 20 pips a day on average, would you say it’s achievable with that system?
Thank you
Hello Guilherme,
The system in the Ichimoku Course on the 3min time frame (WX Shadow) does not have a fixed SL in terms of pips – its a volatility based stop using an adjusted ATR and its for trading Gold vs. USD so depending upon volatility it could be $1.00 or $2.50 in gold.
On the ProForex Course I have a 3min system with a fixed stop of 15pips, the first target is 15pips and the second target is a running target which can go for up to 4-5x multiple of the stop – depends upon how it moves that day.
Hopefully this gives you an idea but 20pips a day on average is not difficult – but key is to make sure your position sizing is done appropriately.
Thoughts?
Feel free to email me directly via info@2ndskies.com
Kind Regards,
Chris
I’ve been studying the ichimoku cloud theories for alot less time than I’ve been trading the markets (with limited success). I’m quite interested in signing up for your advanced course. Before I do though, I’d like to have the cloud charting service streaming in, where can I find it, most charting services don’t do Ichimoku…….David
Hello Marshall (or David?),
If you are trading fx or CFDs, any MT4 platform will have the Ichimoku Cloud built into it.
Also forex broker platforms carry it as well.
Who are you currently trading with that is not carrying it?
FYI – its 2.45am my time but ill respond to your answer first thing in the morning.
Kind Regards,
Chris
Hi Chris,
i just paid the ichimoku course. When will i get my login details?
many thanks,
mert
Hello Mert,
I just sent you the login details so you should be good to go.
Looking forward to working with you.
Kind Regards,
Chris
Hi Chris,
I already have one question, even though I just purchased the course literally minutes ago. You might just cover the question with in the material. I have issues with most major moves happening while I am work. I try to identify them prior to going to work, but it is damn near immpossible to catch them with the phone app. Unfortunaly, I have to be at work prior to NY open. Does this system cover that type of situation? Where to put Buy/Sell Stop/Limits?
I live in the Eastren time zone, most of the time, depends on daylight savings and what city I am working in.
Hello Charles,
Good question.
Yes, there are several systems in the course whereby the moves can happen at many points throughout the day, not just prior to the NY open. Most you can see them setting up ahead of time and be prepared for them.
But they are all rule-based, meaning all the rules for entry, exit, stop, limits, taking profits, everything is explained.
Some you will need to see the signal, others you can place buy/sell stop/limits ahead of time. You also get a free private follow up session with me after the course so we can tailor things towards your trading times in a way that is convenient for you.
Looking forward to working with you.
Kind Regards,
Chris
Hi Chris can this course be used just for forex trading currency pairs and not gold im refering to your 3 min wxshadow
Hello Ian,
The 3min shadow currently in the Ichimoku course is just for gold.
Kind Regards,
Chris
Hi Chris,
I’ve enrolled for the Ichimoku course. Since the course is dated 2010 and the market conditions might have changed, could you confirm the depicted strategies are still as efficient as they were? Thank you in advance.
Jérôme.
Hello Jerome,
We test the strategies once a year to make sure they are still performing with the changing market conditions. If they do not, we get rid of them.
If they continue to perform, then there is nothing to change.
All of them are continuing to perform quite well, especially the inverse tkx, enhanced tkx and tenkan ocx so hopefully this answers your questions.
Kind Regards,
Chris
Thank you Chris.
I’m about to allocate some energy to write EAs. Just a cross-check then.
All the best!
Jérôme
Coolio – glad I could help and good luck with the EA’s
Kind Regards,
Chris
Hi christ I only read through some basic on ichimoko , before i take the course , may i have your opinion – any strategy or trading method will need to be updated to cater for the fast increasing volative and fast changing market, except for the ichimoko cloud method ? . Trading using ichimoko method will not any other indicators or learn how to interpret candlesticks. Thanks
Hello David,
Good questions.
We check and test our systems once a year to account for market changes in volatility or price action, and so far, we’ve only had to make one adjustment on the systems. But overall, we’ve generally been able to keep them streamlined simply because the ichimoku cloud by itself with all its parts filters out volatility so hopefully this answers your question.
You will not need to learn how to interpret candlesticks to learn the material in this course. We add a couple indicators, but nothing you have to learn as they are straightforward and provided free by almost any platform.
Hopefully this answers your questions.
Thoughts?
Kind Regards,
Chris
Hi Chris,
I see that the ichimoku systems are traded on different time frames depending on the system. So I was wondering, lets say the daily and 4hr, how many pairs are tradable on 4hr and how many are tradable on the daily?
Hello Jim,
Good question.
The pairs to be traded on the 4hr and Daily are;
EURUSD
GBPUSD
EURJPY
GBPJPY
AUDUSD
NZDUSD
Adding Gold, likely Silver, S&P, maybe DOW and Oil.
Hopefully this answers your questions.
Not sure if your on my newsletter list, but we have a Memorial Day discount running till Thursday.
If your interested, email me info@2ndskies.com
Kind Regards,
Chris
Thats great, so that’s 6 pairs on each time frame.
In terms of frequency, how many trades can you expect on the 4hr and daily per pair each week/month? Just looking for a rough number. Thanks
Hello Jim,
To be clear, its not 6 pairs on each time frame. Not all the systems are traded on each time frame. But, I doubt you would trade every system on every time frame anyways. Remember, its not about how many trades you make, its how much you make per trade that wins you the game.
In terms of the frequency on the 4hr and daily systems, depends upon environment but between all of them, should get an easy 5-10 per week
with some slower weeks and others more active (rough number).
Hopefully this answers your questions.
Kind Regards,
Chris
Thanks Chris,
Yes you are right about not trading all the systems on every timeframe. But 5-10 trades per week is quite perfect as that was the sort of number I was looking for in terms of trading activity.
Thanks and have an awesome weekend.
Hello Jim,
Good to hear this answered your questions.
Hope to work with you on the course.
Kind Regards,
Chris
Chris,
Can you tell me what type of results in terms of win/loss percentage, max draw down, average wins (in pips) average losses etc. from your testing. I’m not looking for precise numbers and am well aware of the trading disclaimer (past results are not necessarily indicative of future results…) – just ballpark figures. When something seems too good to be true I get nervous.
Hello Oliver,
Sure, am happy to answer these questions (ballpark fyi).
-W/L % varies from 57%-75% depending upon system and pair
-we don’t measure max drawdown which is really a measure of risk per trade, so i could tell you anything, and it wouldn’t mean much unless there was a figure tied to the set risk per trade
-anywhere from a 2.8:1 pips win/lost ratio to 5.4:1 w/l ratio is how they tend to play out
or to translate into larger numbers, 280 pips gained for 100 lost up to 540pips gained for 100 lost
Hopefully the last one makes sense.
Do not hesitate to ask any questions as I am happy to help you make a fully informed decision.
Kind Regards,
Chris
Still more questions – I trade currency futures which have a few important differences from the equivalent spot markets. There is an hour of trading every day where the futures market is closed but the spot market is still trading. Also the futures market doesn’t trade on Sunday. This makes some significant differences in the cloud and in the other lines. Price still seems to respect them. Should I be concerned about these differences? Does your course work on the futures market as well?
Hello Oliver,
Good questions – I have traders who trade futures as well, and there are no issues. Being closed on sunday is like the stock market and ichimoku works on stocks markets and indices as well, so its the same. The 1hr in between is really just measured as low volatility, but no 1 period of small volatility really changes the nature of the cloud. If it was extreme volatility, it could, but 1hr of no data does not do much.
Hopefully that clarifies it.
Thoughts?
Kind Regards,
Chris
Chris,
I’m thinking of taking the plunge but had one last question. Does your course teach only setups or also how to think about Ichimoku charts? I am familiar with the basics and some solid setups would be nice but I’m more interested in standing on my own two feet and gaining a deep understanding of Ichimoku. I’m on the fence.
Oliver
Hello Oliver,
Sorry for the delay as i was traveling internationally and just landed at my new destinatin.
I dont just teach setups, i teach the theory of ichimoku, how to read it properly, how to understand all the components, in addition to things never talked about, such as ichimoku time theory (just added), ichimoku wave theory (coming this week), and ichimoku price theory (soon). So quite a lot to teach you how to really understand and read ichimoku so that you can translate what it is communicating to you in any moment.
Hopefully this gives you a better idea.
Thoughts?
Kind Regards,
Chris
Hello Chris,
With regards to the ichimoku course, can the 4 hour time frame be traded by using mainly using limit orders to enter/exit? Because for the 4 hr I may only be able to place orders once or twice a day.
Thanks.
Hello Krish,
Yes, you can trade the 4hr time frame systems via limit or market order so should not be an issue for you.
Kind Regards,
Chris
Hi Chris, i am interested in ichimoku and price action, question: is it possible to use ichimoku in day trading options?
thanks
Hello Budy,
Hmm, hard to say as I’m not really familiar with options. I know some players use ichimoku for trading options, but usually over a few days. Not sure about intraday so hard for me to answer – my apologies.
But price action, sure, can be done. I don’t cover it in my course but it can be done. Are you talking binary options?
Let me know
Kind Regards,
Chris
thanks for the quick reply, no worries, nope, not binary options, it’s more like using in the money options as a substitute of buying stock. hmm, there are 3 courses available here, which one should i start first, the price action, ichimoku or the pro forex? i am still a newbie in forex. Please advice.
Thanks again,
Budy
Hello Chris,
I am interesting by your advanced Ichimoku course. I like this system. I used it since six month but I don’t have regular income with it.
I would like to know what is the materiel used ? do you have support like PDF or others ?
Excuse me for my English but I am a French trader.
I am understanding what you mean during your analyse.
Do you think I can follow your course ? perhaps you speak French.
kind regards
Paul
Hello Paul,
Your english is actually quite good and I understand you clearly.
In regards to the material, all the lessons are on video which you have access to 24hrs a day, 7 days a week.
So you can study at your own pace and when it is convenient for you. I do not have a PDF as that material
could be copied and distributed for free, which is unfair to those who paid for the course.
But if you understand my articles and videos, then you should have no problem understanding the course
as everything is rule based and explained with many examples. So I think you should be able to follow
the course without a problem.
In terms of speaking French, I only speak Spanish and English – which for an American is more than usual
But French and Portuguese are next on my list.
Hopefully I have answered your questions.
Thoughts?
Kind Regards,
Chris
Hi Paul,
I’m Dutch, French is my mother tongue, I do speak (and write:) english (and spanish as well actually
let me know if you have any understanding issue with the course material. I’ll be happy to help.
Kind Regards,
Jerome.
Hello Jerome,
Very thoughtful and helpful of you – much appreciated.
Kind Regards,
Chris
Hello Chris, thank you for your fast reply. I think that Jerome is a member of 2ndskiesforex. Can I ask to Jerome in French language any understanding issue with the course materiel ?
Are you agree?
kind regards.
Paul
Hello Paul,
Yes, Jerome is a member of my course and he said if you have any questions, you are welcome to ask him in french regarding the course material.
Very thoughtful of him, but hopefully this makes it easier for you.
Kind Regards,
Chris
Cordialement. Jerome
Hi Chris,
I think you have some great content on the site and am interested in your Ichimoku course. I saw you wrote a while back about testing a system for ES e-mini. I prefer this on an Intraday basis to FX. Have you finalised a system for e-mini yet?
Thanks
Richard
Hello Richard,
Thanks for the kind words on the content.
We have one system for the ES, but it’s not quite an intraday system, and may require you to hold it for a day or so.
It tries to catch medium term momentum moves and swings that last about 1-1.5 days.
But looking at others for the ES on the intraday as well.
Hope this helps give you some info.
Kind Regards,
Chris
Hi Chris, I have searched for about 2 days now and looked at EVERYTHING I can on Ichimoku. I am actually trading it soley. It is a great indicator and I am getting some astounding results.
I have traded for 3 years now, but I know there is more to learn and better ways to trade it out there somewhere, and I think you are the man.
One question, do you use other indicators with this or is it Ichimoku only?
I have come across others who use other indicators and I find this annoying, I think this indicator was designed well and it works well by itself, just my opinion though.
Thanks again Chris, I would love to sign up for the Advanced course but I am recovering from a $1000 loss to a “Pro” trader who lost my money, lesson learnt, move on. (Still licking my wounds)
Hello David,
Yes, there is definitely a lot to learn about the Ichimoku Cloud. I am still translating the original texts, and as that continues, so will more knowledge and understanding.
In regards to the other indicators, two of the systems uses other indicators and those systems retain their edge, but a lot of my senior students are using mostly ichimoku for all their trading, now including wave analysis, time theory, and soon to be price theory which some have already started and called the recent top in AUDUSD by 6 pips, so quite powerful things we are working on.
In regards to recovering from a loss, if we only put funds out there that we are comfortable risking, then there is no recovering because we accept at the outset we may lose it all. If we don’t accept this, then we are playing with money we should not be. So in reality, there should never be any ‘recovering’, but trading with an acceptable risk, trading with what we have now, and relating to this moment as is, not a past we cannot change.
Just my thoughts, but hopefully I have given you something helpful here and an interest in the course.
FYI – I am running a holiday special so feel free to email me via info@2ndskies.com for more details.
Kind Regards,
Chris
Hello Chris,
Can you give us an update on your Ichimoku book?
Hello Mike,
Well I’m completing the price action book first, then either a book on pivot points or ichimoku, so at least a year or two out.
Kind Regards,
Chris
Hello Chris
I just paid for the PA + Ichimoku course….when will the login detail be sent to me?
Th you
Hello Diane,
All sent and good to go so you should have it shortly.
Looking forward to working with you.
Kind Regards,
Chris
can you speak persion?
Hi Chris, very interested in purchasing the Advanced Ichimoku course…
Could you tell me or email me the performance of the past 12 months or so on one or more of the strategies in the Ichimoku that you promote here?
Thanks Chris.
Hi Chris,
I’m still very much a beginning trader, just now getting some decent chart time in.
I’m rather confined to trading within Pacific Standard Time from 7am-8pm or so, and forex volume is generally pretty thin. I’m interested in learning to trade multiple times frames of course but especially the lower time frames (5-15 min) – keeps me out of trouble during the day
What is your feeling about day trading with your Ichimoku system within PST?
Many Thanks!!
John
Hello John,
I know your plight about trading times as my career started on the west coast.
Basically you have 2hrs of decent volatility until the London session close. Then things trim down hour by hour until Tokyo opens, but even then, its a little tame.
In terms of being able to trade the lower TF’s using Ichimoku, it can be done, but it takes some skill in learning how to read the ichimoku.
My suggestion is a mix of short time frame plays when the market is right in ichimoku looks, while taking some larger swings over a day or two to capture the long runners when they come.
That would be my approach under what you are looking to do. And yes, it can be learned as I teach systems in the course to trade both intraday and larger swings.
Hopefully this answers your questions.
Thoughts?
Kind Regards,
Chris Capre
Hi Chris,
I’ve recently bought your Advanced Price Action Course. But I also want to purchase your Advanced Ichimoku Course. My question is, Can I ask for a discount on the Ichimoku Course? Please…
Thanking you for your kind consideration.
Thanks,
Jonathan Alvarez
Hello Jonathan,
Yep, just email me for details via info@2ndskies.com.
Kind Regards,
Chris Capre
Hi Chris,
I cannot get through with info@2ndskies.com. The email that I’ve sent to you keep bouncing back. Anyways, here’s my email address joal1211@yahoo.com
Thanks,
Jonathan
Hello Jonathan,
I’m receiving emails all day – almost 100 on the day.
Have you tried to type it in manually? Try that first, but I’m getting emails for sure without a doubt.
Kind Regards,
Chris
Hi Chris,
Thanks a lot for the discount, really appreciate it. I’ve already sent my payment through Paypal. I will just await for my Login Details.
Again, thank you very much. Will apply immediately this strategy once I’ve immersed myself in the course.
Regards,
Jonathan
You are welcome Jonathan – good to have you aboard.
Kind Regards,
Chris Capre
Hi Chris.. what confuses me is that when both Fundamental analysis and technical analysis go hand in hand, how can we rely solely on Ichimoku for our trades ?? If i am entering a trade only on the ichimoku signal without any fundamental analysis. Would that be right. What do you Suggest ??
In my opinion fundamental and technical analysis don’t go hand in hand. There are plenty of successful technical analysts who completely ignore fundamentals.
FYI – I trade without looking at news announcements or considering the general fundamentals, and it has worked out quite fine for me.
When you can learn to read price action, you will not need the fundamental info to trade.
Kind Regards,
Chris Capre
Thanks for your reply chris.. with price action i would not need fundamentals but if i trade using Ichimoku on longer time frames 4H onwards,
can i do it without looking at fundamentals as well ??
Thanks
Hello Andrew,
It is the same with Ichimoku as I do not need to know fundamentals to make good trades as its reflected in the price action.
Kind Regards,
Chris Capre
Thank you for your help chris
Hello Chris,
.
I’ve just enrolled for your Advanced Ichimoku course. I’ve been trading with the indicator for a while but the more I’m using it the more I feel I’d need much broader knowledge of Ichi. Looking forward to “see under the cover”
Tomas
